Signing of commercial agreement with Indian Railways

In another forward step towards the operationalization of Khurja STPP Railway siding, a commercial agreement has been entered into with Indian Railway’s Zonal office i.e., North Central Railway Prayagraj Division on 10.04.2024 under the “Gati-Shakti Multi Modal Cargo Terminal (GSMMCT) Policy-2022. This shall facilitate movement of coal rakes to cater for the fuel needs of the 2x660 MW thermal plant”. The Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal (GSMMCT) Policy is a significant initiative introduced by the Indian Railways to enhance the country's logistics infrastructure and promote multi-modal transportation. This will ensure a steady supply chain for coal requirement of the plant and in a timely manner for smooth and continuous operation of the Khurja Plant. Further, the maintenance of the tracks, bridges, Overhead electrification and Signalling systems (excluding the Plant’s yard portion) shall be undertaken by Indian Railway for hassle free rail movement and Railway shall also provide its seamless support for siding operations. The agreement was signed by Sh. Vijay Kumar (Addl. General Manager) on behalf of THDC India Limited and Sh. Himanshu Shukla (Sr. DCM/PRYJ) on behalf of North Central Railway, at the office of Divisional Railway Manager/PRYJ at Prayagraj. Sh. Rakesh Ratan Pathak (Dy. General Manager) was present during signing of the agreement. Shri Kumar Sharad, ED (Project) congratulated both THDC and Indian Railway team for the signing of commercial agreement and wished for long association and continued support from Railway into the foreseeable future.
