World Water Day Awareness Program Organized by THDCIL's VPHEP Project

To commemorate World Water Day 2024, Public Relations Department of THDC India Limited's Vishnugad Pipalkoti Hydro Electric Project (VPHEP) Project organized awareness sessions in schools and D-hub centers located in project-affected villages.
Under the leadership and guidance of Sh. Ajay Verma, CGM and Head of Project, VPHEP, the initiative saw the active involvement of Mr. Avinash Kumar (Executive Trainee, Public Relations) and Miss. Shaifali Rai (Officer, Social Work) who represented THDCIL with utmost dedication. Engaging with students, they shed light on crucial topics such as water conservation and the advantages of run-of-the-river hydroelectric projects like VHEP. The sessions incorporated presentations, quizzes, and engaging discussions.
Approximately 160 students from Rajkiye Inter College, Gadora, Chamoli, Rajkiya Secondary High School, Bemru, Dasholi, and Dev Bhoomi Computer & C.S.C. Centre, Mayapur participated in the program. The presentations elaborated on the distinctions between traditional hydroelectric projects and run-of-the-river projects like VPHEP, underlining the environmental and social benefits of the latter
The principals and teachers of the schools and training centers applauded THDCIL's initiative. They emphasized the significance of such programs in raising awareness about the project's technology and water conservation practices. They recognized the students' potential to be catalysts for positive change within their communities.
