In order to meet out the fuel requirements of Khurja STPP, the Ministry of Coal,Government of India, allocated the Amelia Coal Mine to THDCIL on 29.08.2016. The mine opened on 17.11.2022 and Commercial Operation successfully achieved on 18.02.2025.

Amelia Coal Mine having Net Geological Reserve of 162.05 MT (Extractable Coal Reserve of 139.48 MT) will fulfill the fuel requirement of Khurja STPP (1320 MW) at Khurja.
